    Individualized Mental Health Treatment

Depression, anxiety and sense-of-self issues can feel physically overwhelming.

    Left unaddressed...

    These feelings can lead to:

    • Increased anger
    • Substance abuse
    • Relationship difficulties
    • Chronic headaches
    • Nausea
    • Anxiety
    • Tension

    Combat Veterans and PTSD

To a certain extent "trauma is trauma," but when we compile childhood issues with divorce and combat trauma, then we have a recipe for "ass-hole " like behavior and alcohol issues. Veterans are often surprised at how adult experiences such as combat correlate to childhood abuse, abandonment, or even self-assigned failures.

    Problematic Sexual Behaviors

    • Chronic pornography use
    • Love addiction (the process of repeatedly falling in love)
    • Commitment violations
    • Chronic masturbation
    • Extramarital affairs
    • Adults who have a sexual attraction to children but are trying to prevent sexually acting out.

Out-of-control behavior that violates your moral code can cause secrecy or despair for you and your loved ones. It’s less about sex itself and more about underlying causes like stress, anxiety, depression or shame. Identifying those causes is the first step to overcoming sexual challenges.

    What is EMDR therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a DoD endorsed trauma treatment modality.

How is it different than other treatments? Simply put:

    1. It's less intrusive for YOU, the Veteran. You don't have to disclose every detail of painful information.
    2. We can use it for CLASSIFIED events, which means you never violate the NDA.
    3. It's highly effective, we get faster results in a shorter amount of time.
Trauma and the Brain Trauma Tip Sheet
    • Can I see Lauren if I live outside of OK or AR?

Unfortunately no. Lauren is only licensed to accept in-person and telehealth patients in Oklahoma and Arkansas. If you are struggling to find a provider in your area, please message me and I will be happy to help you find someone.

    • What happens during the 15-minute phone consultation?

During our SITREP, you’ll be asked about your history. Have you been to therapy before? What are we attempting to make better or “resolve?” What made you call for an appointment? Will this alliance be a good fit?

If we are not a good fit we’ll refer you to someone who can assist you in a better manner, often this occurs when people call needing special care we may not specialize in treating.

    • What happens in the first session?

We’ll discuss legalities, concerns you may have about privacy, and your history. Feel free to have a list of questions you’d like to ask.

Your treatment will be dictated by what we’re addressing, what your symptoms are, and what you’d like to accomplish. Our initial sessions will be spent creating an OPORD (Operational Order), one that addresses your situation, our mission, plan of execution, sustainability, etc. Do you wish to address childhood trauma, or trauma that occurred only in your military or law enforcement career?

    • How long will psychotherapy take?

This depends on a number of factors including your situation and how committed you are to fixing the problems.

    • I’ve been to therapy before, but it didn’t work. What makes you different from other therapists I’ve been to?

My only guarantee is that I am not like other providers. I expect a lot from the men I treat because you’re not only capable but have seen death, violence, and a laundry list of bad shit. Which means you are very capable of obtaining your goals.

    • Do you have a cancellation policy?

By scheduling an appointment, you are reserving Lauren’s time. Like many doctor’s offices, we require a 24-hour cancellation notice. If we do not hear from you before the 24 hours, your credit card will be charged. If you are a no-show your card will be charged. In either case, you will be charged the full hourly rate of $120.

Email and text reminders are enabled to help you remember when you’re appointments occur.
